Jersey is a comfortable and soft stretch fabric that is gentle against the skin.
It is commonly used to make many clothes such as t-shirts, baby grows, leggings and underwear.
This jersey has a 4-way stretch, so is fantastic for garments that need to be able to pull over the head or body without the use of a zip or buttons. They can be used to create figure-hugging clothes, or equally used to create comfortable gathered dresses and tops that stretch with your body. They don’t fray and are easy to wash.
We recommend you sew with a jersey/ ballpoint needle and we highly recommend Gutermann Maraflex thread which is a stretch thread that can be used with a straight stitch on any sewing machine- it stretches with the fabric!
If you are not sewing with a stretch thread, simply use a slight zigzag stitch or an overlocker so that it allows the fabric to stretch without snapping the stitching.
