Double gauze is a fabric made up of two layers of light muslin-type fabric attached throughout with small invisible regular stitches. These stitches give the fabrics have a fabulous gentle crinkled/ wrinkled texture which is very casual and bohemian in its look.
It is a fantastic fabric for dressmaking, including children’s clothes but is also often used in lightweight blankets, muslins and teethers for babies.
